RSS (Really Simple Syndication or Rich Site Summary) is an XML-based format for sharing and distributing Web content, such as news headlines. Using a RSS reader, you can subscribe to and view data feeds from RSS sources, including headlines, summaries and links to full stories, without having to visit a website.
How do I access RSS?
In order to subscribe you need a RSS Aggregator (or Reader) which will download and display RSS feeds on your behalf. If you are using either Microsoft IE 7+ or Mozilla Firefox 3+ you can read the feeds directly in your browser. If you are using an older version browser you must download one of a number of free and commercial RSS Aggregators which are currently available. Performing a search for "RSS Feed Readers" in any major online search engine will produce a multitude of software options which can be PC or web-based and often integrate with mobile devices.
