Traveler Advisory - Road work on NY Route 417 in the City of Salamanca, Cattaraugus County within the Seneca Nation of Indians Allegany Territory

Surdej, P.E. | susan.surdej@dot.ny.gov | (716) 847-3239 | (716) 523-3593 cell www.dot.ny.gov TRAVEL ADVISORY The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) today announced that road work is continuing on NY Route 417 and US Route 219 in the City of Salamanca, Cattaraugus County within the Seneca Nation of Indians Allegany Territory. As a result, traffic delays are expected to occur. Beginning April 26, 2021, motorists will encounter lane shifts and closures on NY Route 417 from the Seneca Allegany Casino entrance to US Route 219 intersection with Parkway Drive. Flaggers will be utilized to direct traffic. This work will commence daily at 7 a.m. and conclude daily at 7 p.m. This road work is expected to last approximately two months. Motorists should expect delays and allow for additional travel time. Motorists are urged to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
