State DOT Sets Hearing On Moving The Brouse Road Rail Crossing
September 23 Hearing in Raymondville to Focus on the Proposed Relocation of the Brouse Road Rail Crossing in Norfolk, St. Lawrence County

The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the Norfolk Town Community Hall, 8729 State Route 56, Raymondville, NY 13667. This hearing is being held pursuant to Section 91 of the Railroad Law to consider a request filed by CSX Transportation, Inc. to relocate the Brouse Road at-grade rail crossing. NYSDOT Chief Administrative Law Judge Robert A. Rybak will preside over the hearing.

In order to accommodate additional rail traffic, CSX is planning to realign the tracks in the vicinity of the Brouse Road crossing, which will require the crossing to be moved approximately 15 feet to the east of its current location. This hearing will establish a record upon which a determination will be made as to what, if any, actions should be taken at this time.

Parties are requested to advise the Office of Proceedings (518-457-1182) if a sign language interpreter, an assistive listening system or any other accommodations will be required to facilitate participation in this hearing.

Parties who wish to receive a copy of the final report that is issued in this case must send a written request to the Office of Proceedings, NYSDOT, 50 Wolf Road, Albany, New York 12232.
