Upstate Airport Economic Development and Revitalization Competition

Greater Rochester International Airport

Building upon the success of Governor Cuomo’s 2016 Upstate Airport Economic Development and Revitalization Initiative and the transformative efforts underway at LaGuardia and John F. Kennedy Airports, New York State is making available an additional $250 million for new Upstate airport enhancements. This includes $230 million to support a new round of the Upstate Airport Economic Development and Revitalization initiative competition; and $20 million that will be allocated through the Governor’s Aviation Capital Grant Program, which supports safety, infrastructure, and economic development projects at general and business-related airports across the State.

This initiative will promote, revitalize and accelerate investments in Upstate commercial passenger service airports, helping to create airports for the 21st Century. This new investment opportunity, administered by the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT), is open to Upstate commercial passenger service airports and airports providing specialized service for commercial aircraft/corporate jets. NYSDOT will be accepting applications for this opportunity through September 15, 2021. Complete program information is available below:
