Phase 1B of The Accelerated Bridge Program

The New York State Department of Transportation’s Accelerated Bridge Program, Phase 1B, will consist of four (4) Design-Build Contracts that will provide for the rehabilitation and repair of potentially fifty-three (53) bridges located in several regions throughout New York State. The contracts will be for the purpose of improving the overall condition ratings of the bridges, in order for them to be removed from the deficient bridge list. The contracts are expected to include the removal and replacement of bridge decks, bearing repair and replacement, and other miscellaneous improvements. The Department’s goal is to provide Notice to Proceed in May 2012 and to complete the Contracts in November 2013. This Request for Qualifications (RFQ) is the first step of a two-step best value procurement process. In order to be invited to proceed to the second step of the procurement process, which is responding to a Request for Proposal (RFP), a Proposer must provide a timely response to this RFQ and be shortlisted by the Department for any of the projects as described therein.
